February 10: Fantastique! presented by the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra

With incredible soloists and one of the greatest symphonies ever written, we guarantee you’ll have a “Fantastique” time at our upcoming concert!

SEISO is proud to feature their 2019 Young Artist Competition Winner, John Flannery, a junior from Washington, Iowa. He will be performing the first movement of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major. Regarded as one of the greatest symphonies from the romantic era, Hector Berlioz’s “Symphonie Fantastique” is a vivid and dramatic look at life and death. To complete the set, the orchestra will perform a new work by Robert Tindle, featuring the 2019 Guest Artist in Residence, trumpeter and member of the Dallas Brass, Buddy Deshler. Remember, all students are free!

February 16: SnowBull 2019 Kickoff Party featuring BROSEPH

February 23: Southeast IA STEM Festival

The Southeast Regional Hub is partnering with local community leaders and educators to host an engaging festival to expose students to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Exhibitors from throughout the region will spark student and parent interest with hands-on learning activities ranging from robotics and healthcare simulations to magnetism and wind energy.

This free, hands-on event is open to preK-12 children and their families.
